Melthouse Bistro, a locally-owned Milwaukee based business, features an ever-evolving selection of hand-crafted, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches made with Wisconsin cheese, thick-sliced, European-style artisan breads (delivered daily from Breadsmith) and an array of fresh, all-natural ingredients. We celebrate your love affair with cheese, with an approachable culinary dining experience that is smart, warm and inviting. Our “barn to bistro” mantra is our commitment to bring you the very best Wisconsin cheese (like Widmar’s 4-Year Aged Sharp Cheddar) and the highest quality ingredients we can find (like Thick-Cut Pecanwood Smoked Bacon), with an unwavering focus on great taste and great value. It means that whenever possible and practical, sourcing local produce. It means preparing your food from scratch, using classic cooking techniques. It means carefully designing our restaurant to create a unique dining experience fundamentally different than what you would find in other fast-casual restaurants. Ideally suited to a restaurant that showcases Wisconsin cheese, some of the restaurant's walls are clad in barn wood reclaimed from a 100-year old Wisconsin granary on the owner's family homestead farm, which inspired much of restaurant's aesthetic charm. All of our grilled cheese sandwiches are united with distinctive beer (most from Wisconsin) and wine pairings that are absolutely sublime. In addition to our vast array of culinary flavor combinations, we will offer a wide variety of freshly-prepared soups, salads, and sides, including our homemade Signature Red Cabbage Cole Slaw, and our Baked Parmesan Hash Browns.
